History
After more than a decade and a half working in a wide variety of roles from engineering, to sales, to accounting and finance, Emergent’s founder, Brian Roth, found himself advising a number of small businesses on finance and strategy issues, while also working as CFO for an early-stage clean-tech company. Identifying that many of the businesses he worked with were facing the same few challenges led Brian to formulate the Value Creation service streams of Emergent Strategies Consulting. With an initial vision to broadly help entrepreneurial businesses achieve their goals, Emergent is especially passionate about advising businesses in the Renewable Energy and Clean-Tech spaces who are developing products and services that will yield genuine benefit for people and the environment.

Brian Roth
Brian is a senior executive with more than fifteen years experience in Finance, Strategic Planning, Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Raising, and Strategic Sales. A CPA and a P.Eng., Brian possesses a unique skill set developed in a variety of entrepreneurial environments. Brian has a track record of growing start-ups both organically and via acquisition as well as positioning clean-tech businesses for successful strategic exits. Brian is highly respected for his ability to recognize and identify a myriad of moving pieces within complex businesses and develop strategic operating plans to achieve growth.

Recognition & Achievements
Managed three rounds of financing that raised more than $6M for Vancouver-based clean-tech venture.
Led due diligence and integration process on the successful acquisition of a competing firm including business modeling, valuation assessment, and management of operational issues during start up.
Worked with CEO and Board of Directors of Vancouver-based clean-tech business to achieve a successful exit, selling to a strategic acquirer in 2015.
Negotiated multiple supply agreements with international vendors, yielding significant reductions in both cost of goods and lead times within multiple businesses.

A committed brand builder, connector and collaborator, she has combined her experience in business and brand strategy with a positive spirit and passion for community in her consulting.
Fenella Jacquet

Fenella has been working as a designer since 2012. With her in-house and freelance experience, Fenella has gained a wide array of expertise producing both print and digital assets including but not limited to: logos, stationary, promotional materials, website design, annual report layouts, infographics, custom illustrations, web & print advertisements, social media graphics, and photo editing/manipulation.
